Facilities
Opened in 2012, Stuart Field is earning a reputation as one of the top NJCAA softball facilities in the nation. The facility is named after local business leaders and philanthropists Richard and Nancy Stuart, the founders of Chicken Express.
The college added artificial turf to Stuart Field in 2020, installed by the same company that outfitted the University of Tennessee, the University of Texas and Texas Tech University.
Stuart Field has the following dimensions: 205 feet to left field, 225 feet to center field and 205 feet to right field. The home dugout is conveniently connected to a dedicated softball clubhouse, which includes a locker room and coaches offices. Covered batting cages are located just beyond the left field fence, adjacent to the clubhouse.
Players also have access to state-of-the-art training facilities in nearby Vickie and Jerry Durant Hall including free weights, weight machines, cardio equipment and a sports medicine facility.
Our Campus
Weatherford College’s original campus, Old Main, was located on South Main Street in Weatherford. It moved to the hilltop overlooking most of Weatherford in 1968.
The beautiful college campus adheres to the traditions of academic excellence set at its conception in 1869, while maintaining a focus on the future. Amid renovated and newly constructed buildings sits the original bell from Old Main and an arch made of stones from that building. The Academic Building, opened in 2012, the Don Allen Health Science Building, opened in the fall 2014, and the Emerging Technologies and Workforce Building, dedicated in 2022, allow students the opportunity to learn in state-of-the art and comfortable facilities.
Our student-athletes also have access to the Doss Student Center, Academic Support Center, Speaker Jim Wright Library, and other campus facilities that are a short walk away from our on- campus housing.
Dorms
Weatherford College on-campus student housing is a unique alternative to traditional residence hall living, featuring apartment-style, four-bedroom apartments. Vickie and Jerry Durant Hall, a state-of-the-art residence hall for Honors Program students and student-athletes opened in fall 2024.
Dining
Inside the Doss Student Center, students have access to the Coyote Cafe, salad bar, and grill where they will find a variety of nutritious and delicious meal options from breakfast through dinner.
